I can't wait to be in the tax bracket where I can do the "Tawle Menu" at Maydan without second thought - however that is not the reality of today, so please join me on my à la cart journey - to begin with the showstoppers. I have never eaten chicken like this. It was an entire chicken flattened without bone and the entire thing had the texture of red meat with how much it was falling apart on the fork, how perfectly tender, yet an outside charred to a crisp. wow. - the other large plate was the cauliflower, incredibly unique. a whole head of cauliflower covered on the outside with incredible sauces. this is definitely the kind of dish that would make any vegetarian feel included at the table. However, the inside of the cauliflower tasted just like....cauliflower - the halloumi, all four bites (don't get me started on tapas style), was so rich coded and a sweet honey with peanuts to add a bit of salt. this dish was magnificent. so much attention to detail and came out sizzling hot. really showed the strength of the restaurant in my opinion. - the zaatar eggplant was beautiful, but the eggplant itself wasn't cooked in any special way that eggplant needs. it had fun garnishes, but this was not a wow moment for me. the hummus was not a wow moment either. I said i saw online it was bland....maybe I spoke it into existence, but it certainly was. wish we ordered multiple of the legendary Muhammara instead.

Oh.. my.. LAWD - what an incredible place! Came here for the first time for dinner. I've always heard about how hard it is to get a reservation so my two friends and I came by around 4:45pm before they opened at 5pm and were able to get seated at the bar. Dorothy & EK (or it might have been "TK", apologies - it could be a bit hard to hear on my end) were amazing from start to finish. They took great care of us and were attentive to our every need. We got the table menu that was $85 a person and it was well worth it. We ended up going home with so much leftovers despite eating an absurd amount and each dish was delicious. The spreads were bomb.com and tasted so fresh. Loved the asparagus and fresh cucumber/tomato salad later on. We were so full when it came to our protein but we ordered the branzino and it was beautiful. Everyone there was so kind from start to finish - from Clara & Maxwell in the front to Dorothy & EK with the in-house service. I'd love to take my friends and guests and come back!

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in DC. Like this is the one spot I will recommend everyone to go to and I will take my out of state visitors to. It is just that good. Food: 12/10, food is excellent. The star of the night was the Spring Hummus and the Charred Zucchini. I still dream about the Spring Hummus, it is so delicate and just perfect blend of flavor and texture. I did not have a drink but my friends did and they both enjoyed theirs. Service: 10/10, amazing hospitality and service. All the staff . Our waiter knew which orders we have gotten and are still waiting on and make sure we are good throughout the night. Vibe: 10/10, cutest layout and decor. When you walk in, you are greeted in a dark and small room, but will be taken to behind a very cute door that opens up to the hearth and a spacious dining space. I booked this ahead right when the reservation opens up. This place gets completely booked so I would recommend planning ahead.

Incredible experience all around, from the atmosphere to the service and food! We chose the lebanese feast family style dining, and we were beyond words! Starting with the spreads and bread then to the couscous, chicken, haloumi cheese, aspargus and finishing it off with the ribeye and branzino, everything was amazing! But the ribeye... the ribeye had me almost in tears with how good it was. The whole experience invites everyone at the table to share and try different combinations and be social and simply enjoy the time they are there. It was a fantastic experience!
